Life on the Palm divides along a north-south axis. The Atlantis end of the crescent is hotel-resort territory — The Royal Atlantis, Atlantis The Palm, and FIVE Palm anchor this zone with beach clubs and high-footfall F&B that is excellent if you live nearby and intrusive if you want quiet. The frond villas, by contrast, are genuinely private: direct beach access, private pools, and gates with no through-traffic. The trunk corridor (Golden Mile, Shoreline) functions as the community's high street with a Carrefour, pharmacy, medical centres, and the Palm Monorail providing a car-free connection to Atlantis. The Nakheel Mall serves the mid-trunk. Schools on the island include The International School of Choueifat, though most families bus to Dubai American Academy and Jumeirah English Speaking School on the mainland.

Rental yields on the Palm are lower than the Dubai average — frond villas yield 3–5%, trunk apartments 4–6% — but this is compensated by among Dubai's highest short-term rental rates. A three-bedroom frond villa commands AED 2,000–4,000 per night on Airbnb during peak season, and annual gross returns from short-term operation regularly exceed 8–10% for actively managed properties.
